UPDATE February 14th, 2009:

New "Made in the USA" product category launched - if you want to Buy American, then this is an easy way to browse all items Porkchop BMX carries that are Made in the USA. There are 100's of items, so please be patient while I update the listings over the next few days. (right now there are over 100 items already there - but this is less than 1/2 of the USA-made products we carry.

As a side note, bike part quality isn't necessarily linked to country of origin - there are excellent manufacturers all over the world, but a "cheaply made" part is usually due to the specifications provided by the company contracting to have the item made - NOT the contracted manufacturer's inability to deliver quality (garbage in, garbage out...). However, buying US made products does help the US economy so I certainly am in favor of it. However, Porkchop BMX will always look for the best deal based on quality and price, regardless of country of manufacture. As an example, the new Chop Saw chainrings coming this spring are made right here in the USA. Meanwhile, the 100% chromoly 26" tri-bar cruiser frame will be made in China. Both products will be excellent quality, but the frame would cost you almost TRIPLE if I had it made here in the U.S. (not just due to less expensive labor - the jigs and tooling are already in existence in China and would unnecessarily add to the cost by recreating them here in the U.S.).

I hope everyone finds this new product category useful!
